The center of the cable core is a metal reinforced core. For some optical cables, a layer of polyethylene (PE) needs to be extruded outside the metal reinforced core. Wind the loose tube (and filling rope) around the central reinforcing core to form a compact and round cable core, and fill the gap in the cable core with water blocking filler. Wrap the plastic coated aluminum strip (APL) longitudinally, extrude the inner polyethylene sheath, and wrap the double-sided plastic coated steel strip (PSP) longitudinally to extrude the polyethylene sheath into a cable.
